I can't say I disagree. But I'd be interested in the opinions of others. Naturally, it's quite subjective matter!

Unlike the Rann/Thanagar War ...

far bet it for you to start a meme? (cough)blogosphericrannthanagarwar(cough) :)
although I must admit that I could be wrong on that one...

Agreed. That is a pretty nice cover. Minimalist but effective.

That's an excellent cover. Drew Johnson may be the best cover artist going (although James Jean, Frank Quitely, & Phil Noto are up there).

Issue 745's cover reminds me of the Batman: Black & White cover from Alex Toth, which is among my favorite Batman covers. The Barry Windsor-Smith cover from the same series is also striking. In fact, at least 90% of the art from that mini was top notch.

I think I included him on my favorite batman cover artists a while back. I think I agree with Devon, from a purely design standpoint at least.

I don't know about most beautiful, since that is in the eye of the beholder, but is certainly one of the most pleasing covers to me.

I loved everything about those Dave Johnson covers during this run of Detective, from the logo/header design on up. The interiors were pretty good, too, with Greg Rucka writing and the very underrated Shawn Martinbrough on art.
