When I was graduated from High School...

DC was still publishing Arak, and this is what they had him doing:

Who knew Tom of Finland had done work for DC?!

So ... is there still room in the world for comics like Arak? What do you think?

No.

...unless you can retcon him into the Bat-family. Guaranteed sales of 30K a month whatever's in it!

Sadly, I'd be in that number.

I was looking back at some of DC titles back through the years and although I'm more into the capes-and-tights kind of stuff, I think it's unfortunate that there isn't the variety of genres available that there used to be.

However with Jack Cross, The Losers, Johnah Hex on the way, and rumors of Warlord and Adam Strange ongoings coming up, maybe it's cycling back into that.

I'm sure somebody, somewhere, has a great Arak tale to tell.

Who knows, it might even be clean enough for an Comic Book Authority book.

I had that very issue. They could always Vertigo him.

It's so obvious now! Power Girl's true origin is that she is the daughter of Arak! After all, what's Arak spelled backwards?
