AND he's missing a tooth. Why doesn't he use his shape-shifting powers to just grow a new one?

Well, he is in a flaming Cage of Fire, guys...

By the way... my personal theory?

The real Martian Manhunter never left Apex City. He's still living, disguised as, I dunno, a cow or something. Maybe a flamingo.

In the Squadron Supreme, the ersatz Martian Manhunter is indeed a Skrull, known as the Skrullian Skymaster. Lookie!

Where is that scan from? Was there a new Salvation Run issue I missed?

Spending years as cows is time honored a Skrull thing to do as well.

Just ask Reed Richards

It's from a preview copy of the next issue of Salvation Run.

You do know that my first reaction to his new look was "SKRULL!"

Superman/Batman #29

I noticed that chin similarity the other day myself. I probably would have *never* noticed if Skrulls hadn't been in the news so much lately. Not like I knew anything about them until they were suddenly everywhere...

A shapeshifter pretending to be another shapeshifter entirely is an interesting mental exercise.

Kind of reminds me of the Theatre des Vampires in Interview With A Vampire; vampires pretending to be humans pretending to be vampires...

Maybe the Skrulls are Martians?

"Maybe the Skrulls are Martians?"

They don't LOOK like Martians. They look like Dire Wraiths.

I guess he also forgot that he's no longer vulnerable to fire since Joe Kelly's "Trial By Fire" arc on JLA. Jeez, even Mark Verheiden remembered that in his first Superman/Batman issue.
