- The most cold-hearted Catwoman ever.
- Luthor in prison duds. As he should be.
- The penny plundering.
- GOSH, that was a fast trip to the moon, LOL.
- I like this Norman McKay much better.
- Okay, Judd made several big wins with me this week. He's given Connor a skill set that makes him a good complement to Ollie, rather than a redundant, failed replacement. He's treated memory loss like the complicate thing it is, rather than just a comic book trope. He dealt with some of the inconsistency of Connor's previous characterization. AND, I might add, what he's done has left open the possibility of Connor's sexuality... again.
- Rexy. Gods, I love comics.
- Superman has some in-law problems, apparently.
- Two-Face is a Star Trek fan.
- Where Frank hid the drug.
- Apparently, Clark Kent, despite being a writer for decades, manages to confuse the accusative with the vocative, which I sure none of his readers will.
- Wait, did he really just shoot Lex?
- 20 zeppelins; GODS, how I love that character!
- The artificial whale. Good memory, Dini.
- Notice he said "lease"; he doesn't still them.
- That's the second-best Joker-kills-someone-by-peanut-allergy I've ever read!
- The Punisher's garbage can.
- Huh. Batman's broken and rotting corpse... . But Power Girl STILL manages to look good!
- The fact that in their argument the Zamarons and the Guardians are both right.
- Dr. Elliott finally earns his name. And his bandages.
- A thank you from Two-Face.
- The real-worldish ramifications of the exposure of Vesetech, particularly the montage of those effects; pure genius. That's good comics, folks.
- Karate Alfred!
- Street-fightin' Starro!
- I love Flamebird & Nightwing, instantly.
- Defeated by a Whirli-bat? ROTFL!
- Pennies from heaven.
- Jeez, even a crushed skull won't shut Lo-lo up!
- Selina's oh-so-sweet revenge.
- Trinity just gets crazier and crazier!
- Was the meta-ending of Legion in the 31s Century as, well, creepy to you as it was to me?

Out of curiosity, what do you think of Topps' announcement about shutting down WizKids?
Well, I certainly don't consider it good news.
However, Wizkids made LOTS of games, most of which flopped very badly. Heroclix works pretty well, and (I think) is actually profitable by itself. So maybe they'll have another division continue it, or maybe sell the license.
That pretty much echoes the sentiments of the Houston Clix Mafia. Lord knows, I've got more than enough little toy supermen and women to keep me busy for the foreseeable future.
Where'd McKay show up?
Eheu! Confusing the accusative and the vocative? I guess super-Latin isn't one of his powers.
Norman McKay (but not quite the same one from Kingdom Come) appears in the Kingdom Come Special: Superman one-shot.

Holy Crap Holy Crap Holy Crap Holy Crap.
Is the Nightwing at the end of Action really who I think he is??
Ostrakos,
I can NOT tell you how "Eheu!" made my day.
"Is the Nightwing at the end of Action really who I think he is??"
Um.... I dunno. Who do you think he is...?
He's referred to as "Kid" and he uses "tactile telekinesis." Also a statue of one Conner Kent was shown earlier in this issue. Plus Geoff Johns was the last person to write Superboy.
Seems to me that all signs point to Kon-El being back! If you recall the early Superboy issues, not only did he use tactile telekinesis, but he made a point of letting everyone else know he was using it as he did it.
AH! I see now...
What's the deal with the artificial whale? I'd forgotten that one, if I ever knew it....

Batman confiscated the whale.
So...much...to be happy about. Guy Gardner should always wear sunglasses. And I was so happy to see Lex in prison garb, getting sassed.
Batman confiscated the whale.
Oh, of course he did. I can just see him in the Batcave now. "That corner there, I just don't know. Giant typewriter? Nah. Enormous 1947 penny? Got one. I know; robotic whale! Yes!"
Batman needs to go on Clean House on the Style channel. Can't you just picture it? "Look, Batman, the robot dinosaur just has to go! I'll let you keep the penny, it's kitsch; but the dinosaur is just so 1993!"
I'm surprised a mention didn't go to what was my favorite moment this week- Mr. Freeze, Batman, and The MAgic Hand! I normally prefer Mr. Freeze as a serious character, but that was just too funny.
And, I don't know if it's in spite of or because of her bizarre make-up and hideous pants, but I think I've fallen in love with Lady Chronos...

When I was a Latin teacher, the kids sure did love that word.
By the way, in which Superman book does this happen? I'd like to pick up a copy.
If I remember correctly, Joker killed the man that was interviewing him in the Batman Villains Secret Files back in 1998.
Where did it happen this week?
Yes, Kelson, he has.
That's exactly right, Patrick; it was an all-prose piece. Bonus points IF you can remember the NAME of the interview who died.
This week, he kills the judge at his first arraignment that way, too, in Batman Confidential.
By the way, in which Superman book does this happen? I'd like to pick up a copy.
In the JSA one-shot with Superman vs. Superman. But there's no Latin in it, Ostrakos, so don't buy it for that...
Has it been definitely, irrevocably confirmed that the "Kingdom Come Superman" is from another Earth, or is everyone afraid to face the possibility that his Earth is the future of theirs?
Well, he thinks, and DC seems to confirm it, that he's from Earth-22. Which is a world much like, but not necessarily identical to, the world of Kingdom Come. But since this is DC, I'm sure they'll change his point of origin as the whim strikes. . . .
I may just be too dumb for this one...accusative? vocative? I have the one-shot, but I'm not getting this reference...help!
Was the interviewer named George Washington Carver? I know it had to be something like that, because I think the punchline was having peanuts kill the godfather of peanuts. My comics are at my parents house so I can't check!
"I'm not getting this reference...help!"
Lois's final words to Superman are:
"Don't lose ... Clark..."
He is interpreting "Clark" as a vocative (the person being addressed):
"Don't lose, Clark."
However, it's obvious that she spoke it as an accusative (the direct object of "lose"):
"Don't lose Clark."
The writer is also trying to deceive the reader, taking advantage of Lois's weakness to use elliptical punctuation, because normal punctuation would tip his hand.
Yes, the interviewer's name was George Carver.
Two-Face's line from the "favorite quotes of the week" now has me reading all his lines like Bill Lumbergh in Office Space. I think it might work surprisingly well as a character voice for him....
You're going to love next week's issue of Trinity -- VIBE!!!
I couldn't disagree with you more on Connor Hawke. I've always like the fact that he's a human being, the love child of Moonday and Oliver, with his father's talent for archery and his hard-won training in martial arts. Not a meta.
Now - sort of out of nowhere (Sivana did this why?) - he's genetically modified and imbued with Plastic Man tissue, giving him superpowers unrelated to his origin and history. And - he can't aim anymore.
Yes, this differentiates him from Oliver. A little too much. Giving Nightwing supersenses and the ability to shapeshift into a giant crow would differentiate him from Batman, but that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea.
"Giving Nightwing supersenses and the ability to shapeshift into a giant crow would differentiate him from Batman, but that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea."
Heh; point made and taken.
I've got to agree with Spectrum Rider here. I read the entire run of Connor Hawke as Green Arrow, where I could never follow Oliver Queen for more than a few months in a row before burning out. Hawke was a far more nuanced and enjoyable character, in my book, and I've missed his unique role in the DCU.
It was always clear to me Connor wasn't meant to become Green Arrow, but I always hoped he'd pass the mantle on to Roy Harper and form a sort of Power Man/Iron Fist miss-match combo. The libidinous, reckless, slightly obnoxious Roy paired with the serene, disciplined idealist Connor would have been great, especially if Hawke's sexuality shifted from "confirmed heterosexual" to bi. It could have been the first shot at American super-hero yaoi!
