Do you suppose 2500 years ago, fans of Greek and Roman mythology would get into bitter disputes about which of their superheroes was better? The Greeks would be all like "You guys just ripped off Jupiter's origin story from Zeus!" And the Romans would be all like "How many planets is Zeus named after, L0Z3RS!"
this is a comic book blog, so it is not acceptable to make fun of the way the preznit speaks, esp. during this period when we are trying to figure out whether he is the greatest preznit or merely a great preznit.
And of course, it is up to the preznit's supporters, not the blog owner, to decide what is acceptable.

Matt Yglesias is a comic geek! Awesome. And yet, I'm not surprised.
And you notice that the Marvel geeks move right in immmediately with their ideas of what would be a better analogy.... Sigh...
"Mum--my mythology is more referentially resonant than YOUR mythology...!"

No, but picturing it DOES make me laugh !!!
Well, that kind of DID happen.
Caligula thought Zeus was much cooler than Jupiter (kind of an Earth-2 vs. Earth-1 thing) and anyone who disagreed with him should be put to death.
Only he was Emperor, so he could, like, actually do that.
Suddenly the DC message boards don't seem so bad.
Oh, no! Politics on a comic book blog! I'm getting the vapors and I'm about to swoooooooon!
*THUMP*
Wait, does this mean that both he and Hal are superpowerless except from the waist down?
Word verification: eutptq, how W. pronounces "utopia."
