Artists are Desirable but Not Necessary

I agree. No artist's rendition of "Rockman" could be as wonderful as the one in my head.

I don't know about that. In many cases, yes. But Basil Woolverton was a truly singular talent. Pencillers may be desirable but not necessary, but artists like Woolverton are always needed.

I think he was a sheep who drew for Baaad Magazine from an issue of Captain Carrot an his Zoo Crew.
