- For those of you who can't read it: "He's also late. I'll get to the Star before you. I survived the mountain of fire. I am the true Element Man. I am the only one. "
- The Monarch Playing Card Company? I didn't see that one coming.
- Of course they landed on Dinosaur Island.
- I really like that Lois hasn't magically forgotten or forgiven who killed her sister.
- Bizarro Wonder Woman's mission.
- Finally, the Krypton/Daxam connection is explained.
- Heh. I really like the new Batgirl. It's kind of like Harley Quin as a good guy.
- Bizarro Flash's symbol.
- That the Black Lantern "difficulties" affect the Outsiders powerfully and are addressed, but not directly and not by name.
- I really want to see an Actioneer comic now.
- Bizarro Amazo. Brilliant.
- Gods help me, I like the new Terra. What's her deal, anyway? Is she not a human?
- I just love Cat Grant's new hairdo.
- Owlman's ears.
- I'm not sure why but... I'm actually liking the currently JLA. Which makes no sense at all.
- The batawrong.
- Heh. Rainbow Superman. Nice touch.
- The Web taking inspiration from his father's dying message in a ... non-standard way.
- I can't of many villains beside Mr. Freeze who would attempt brain surgery on themselves.
- The Penguin always survives.
- PHIL480 is a requirement? A 400 level class... a requirement? For what, buddhahood?
- "Busty airbone lass"; best codename ever!
- Glad to see someone remembers what happened to the Spook.
- The dog survives. The dog always survives a horror movie.
- I really like the new Bruce Wayne. He's very useful. Why doesn't he just become part of the team?
- Finally, he puts some CLOTHES ON. Gotham's not that warm year round.
- Smallville still has drive-ins? Er, had?
- I love the connectedness of all the Red Circle heroes.

Things That Made Me Happy
... in my comics this week.
PHIL480 is a requirement? A 400 level class... a requirement? For what, buddhahood?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a seminar or internship required for the major.
So what is the new Bizarro Amazo's deal? Anything like the one in DC Comics Presents #71?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the new Terra isn't human. She's from some wacky race of creatures that live beneath the earth. She was modified to look human so she could live among us. Nobody knows what she originally looked like...
ReplyDeleteIt's so NICE to know someone who knows latin.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that Krypto is alright. Ma Kent is a tough old bird, but I was worried about the dog.
So much Amanda Conner artwork to enjoy this week.
Actually, Sally, my majors were in Latin and in Greek.
ReplyDeleteDid you catch the name of the nightclub in that Superman Annual? It was "Reverb" and the retired hero who owned it was Armando Ramone, Vibe's brother.
ReplyDeleteI did indeed!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't catch the Reverb thing. I am shamed. Where was all the Bizarro action?
ReplyDeleteSuperfriends.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you hear about something incredibly awesome in these lists and you have no idea where it's from it's usually because you're not reading Superfriends.
ReplyDeleteAnd my major was Philosophy. The way most universities number their courses, PHIL480 ought to be a senior-level course of fairly esoteric substance: Strange Phenomenological Adventures, or My Greatest Ephiphany, or Tales of the Dialectic. It sure wouldn't be a required course for incoming freshmen.
ReplyDeleteBut maybe they do things differently in Gotham City. . . .
"Whenever you hear about something incredibly awesome in these lists and you have no idea where it's from it's usually because you're not reading Superfriends."
ReplyDeleteYer darned tootin'.
I was a philosophy major, too, Steve. I don't quite remember, but I probably had to take a 400-level course.
ReplyDeleteSuperfriends!! lol. I'm totally subscribing to that now. And I felt silly for reading old issues of the JLU comic....
I didn't get to the Superman annual till last night.
ReplyDeleteSo, everything I had to relearn about Mon-El and Daxam after the first Crisis. . .
And then again after Zero Hour (not to mention after the various Legion reboots). . .
I have to relearn one more time?
Great Scott, it's worse than keeping up with Hawkman!
If the creative team behind Power Girl decided to make Terra's improvised costume her permanent one, I would not be displeased or disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with you on the new Batgirl, I definitely like her WAY (WAY WAY WAY) more than the last one.
Great Scott, it's worse than keeping up with Hawkman!
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not. Close, maybe, but not worse. There's parts of that I still don't get!
I loved Mr. Freeze's costume closet.
