Another Reason to Love Starman

Anyone can defeat a grizzly bear.
Except, you know, the Detroit League.

But Starman knows that the coolest way to take out a grizzly bear...

is to hit it with a tiger.

  1. I think this is the real reason why Jack Knight refused to wear the costume. He knew there was no way he could live up to the level of awesomeness set by his dad.

DC seriously needs to bring back the All-Star Squadron or some other Golden Age series.

  3. I am more and more tempted to pick up Golden Age Starman Archives.

  4. Just this Saturday, I saw the Japanese 1977 classic Karate Bearfighter, where martial arts star Sonny Chiba defeated a brown bear (okay, a guy in a bear suit) in hand-to-paw combat by using only his Kickass Karate Skillz.

    That was wicked cool.

But even The Mighty Chiba, in all his overacting, polyester disco suit wearing glory, did not demonstrate the badassery shown here.

The bar for bear-fighting has forever been set high by Mr. Knight.

Jeez, how would you top this? Seriously?

  5. So this is how I would defend myself with a piece of fresh fruit when attacked by a tiger, use the fruit to attract a bear...

    Bless you Starman!

  6. Not only does Starman use a tiger to clobber a grizzly bear, he makes a joke while doing it.

    Starman is the best.

  11. I need to study the ways of Ted Knight; scientist, adventurer, animal tamer.

  12. I always wondered what a tiger hitting a bear would sound like.

  14. That's what's wrong with comics these days. Not enough superheroes hitting animals with other animals.
