Raised Eyebrows

Marc Singer has an exceedingly perceptive review of the latest issue of All-Star Superman that I encourage you to read, if for no other reason than his clever use of the word "supercilious".

Speaking of that issue, are you assuming, as I am, that the Parasite's impromptu "snacking" on Superman-in-disguise will turn out to be the solution to Superman's potentially fatal overcharge...?

I got that feeling as well. Though after issue 4, I'm wondering if Lex and a certain Dr. Q aren't in cahoots.

And Marc and Jog hit the nail right on the head about Luthor's interpretation of Superman. I've wondered for a while about how people interpret the Clark Kent/Superman issue. It seems to me less of an issue of a comic book character and more of an "If I had these godlike powers, this is what I would do," kind of deal.

  2. Nah...too easy.If this is like what happened with Virus X,waaaay back in the mists of comic pre-history,they will at least TRY to milk this...

  3. 'Course, using the Parasite to drain off excess energy from a dangerously over-powered Superman is EXACTLY the plot of Adventures of Superman #512. So I'm kind of hoping that's not the case here.

Anyway, yeah, Marc's review is a great piece written about a great comic.

  4. Hey, Scipio, are you enjoying All-Star Superman? I'd gotten it into my head somehow that you didn't like it, but now I can't remember.

  7. That would make a for a good cure but it seems too early in the story.

    Love the blog btw.

  8. Thanks, bigseek. I don't think we'll discover that that's the cure until later, or it will inspire the cure later.
