It seems to be an anime-style cartoon a la Teen Titans. And it seems to have abandoned the whole Supergirl angle to further worsen the post Crisis DC by bringing in Superboy(who's most likely Clark).
I think they combined Querll and Cham into one character, which does suck and rightly deserves the Legion Flight Ring Flash.
Why take the time to set up a spinoff in JLU and rework the Legion comic if they were just going to change to something new. They have character designs and finished artwork, they must have known this direction for months.
With the exception of Brainy, almost everyone else looks great, but what the hell is up with Tinya and her neck brace? Looks hideous.
I'm very curious to see the designs of the other Legionnaires, as well as to see who made the cut. I'm hoping for Blok, Karate Kid, Matter Eater Lad, Dragonmage, Gates, Leviathan, Shinking Violet, Chameleon and Kid Quantum.
The Brainy makeover isn't completely out of left field -- it kinda makes sense that the descendent of Brainiac would be a robot. How much you wanna bet they call him "Brainiac 5.0"?
The show was originally sold as being about Superboy and the Legion, where the Legion went back in time to recruit SuperMAN, but overshot and got to him when he was SuperBOY. Now, after the Siegel/Superboy lawsuit, they're referring to him as the young SuperMAN before he went to Metropolis.
These are the seven regular characters. We know there are at least two recurring characters, Cosmic Boy (voiced by Wil Wheaton) and Triplicate Girl. Winema Wazzo (Tinya's mom and UP president) will appear, as will the Fatal Five (at least twice) and Mekt Ranzz. No word on any other characters, although XS was seen in one concept art drawing last year.
James Tucker from JLU is the head guy here, and the staff is pretty much all from either Teen Titans or JLU.
I'm keeping a close watch on the news of the series over at my Legion Omnicom blog.
I must admit that in my fanboy dreams I have always wanted a legion cartoon. So, though I too disliked Elastic Brainy, I will be patient and look forward to the final result. (What? No quislet?)
I totally want to see "Behold the Legion Flight Ring!" appear on a casual basis in the current Legion run. It's way too good to stay a fan joke. The art of the dis is just necessary for a teenage gang in the future.
Girls can wear whatever colour they like, but Saturn Girl's costume is traditionally red and white, not Barbie pink and white. That was Cosmic Boy's schtick.
Anonymous: no, Saturn Girl's costume was pink in the 70s - thus making it even harder to tell where costume ended and skin began. That, of course, was all part of Mike Grell's master plan to erode our society's silly nudity taboo one comic book at a time. (During this same time period, Rokk showed skin where he had traditionally worn pink . . .)

OK - I have been enjoying the the LOSH cartoon since it started, but only so-so. It does land in between JLU and Teen Titans in terms of story/animation sophistication, which makes it perfect to watch with my 4 year-old. This week, however, the episode "Legacy" was a heaping helping of Silver Age Awesome. Spoiler synopsis: The Legion is on the trail of "The Scavenger Gang" - no DCU antecedent that I know of for them. During all of this Supes has struck up a friendship with a super-rich party girl of the 3.0.C. named "Alexis." Pretty early on, it is evident that Alexis is a Luthor, but I was not prepared for how much fun they were going to have with this. The basic plot is about Kal's responsibility to his friends vs. having fun. The good part is that he twigged early to his duty and executed a recto-cranial extraction a lot faster than usual for this sort of plot. That set up the AWESOME part after Alexis teams up with the Scavengers to take out her rivals for her new boy-toy, and in the ensuing battle, Supes takes out her mech-suit, and the resulting expolosion causes Alexis's HAIR TO FALL OUT - and now she hates Supes and the Legion.
And is shown in prison with a jumpsuit reading (I think) "Luthor."

Plus, she has a robot butler named Wodehouse.
So, for all of the revamping and design issues I had, this cartoon has now racked up mega-points.
They always screw up my favorite characters =/ And what happened to Phantom Girl? Ah well, can't win 'em all I guess.

I loathe the Braniac 5 design, but I'm not exactly thrilled with Phantom Morticia Addams, either.
