Either this is Mark Waid being ironic or it's simply characteristic lack of self-awarness on Red Tornado's part. It's Mark Waid, so it could easily be BOTH.
In looking at it now, I realized I prefer Red Tornado's original costume. Also, I never noticed that Hourman's hourglass seems to have been replaced with a Pokemon card.
