Against the law, I know, but so was Batman when he started out. Over at Marvel, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch never had their hearts in their villainy either. Sinestro, though, was a full-fledged hero who then became a full-fledged villain.
In his first appearance, it seemed to me that Black Adam was corrupted by the power of Shazam almost immediately; but in later retellings he was shown to have operated for good for a time before going over to the dark side.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11737441.post-61430554272220630392008-12-31T15:27:00.000-05:002008-12-31T15:27:00.000-05:00Sinestro...and Black Canary now that I think of it...Sinestro

...and Black Canary now that I think of it.Audiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12014886402102923551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11737441.post-4606704864662633252008-12-31T14:05:00.000-05:002008-12-31T14:05:00.000-05:00In the DCU, I really can't think of any major hero...In the DCU, I really can't think of any major hero who started as a villain, or who switched sides...?

Sinestro.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11737441.post-44001231801216271852008-12-31T13:18:00.000-05:002008-12-31T13:18:00.000-05:00Looks like my post didn't post, so, here I go agai...Looks like my post didn't post, so, here I go again.
I got here thanks to a link posted in Siskoid's Blog of Geekery and I found your blog quite entertaining. In the Marvel U, you can easily come up with a list of heroes who used to be villains (or who've switched sides a dozen times). Some, they've been heroes so long it's almost trivia that they started out as villains (Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye) In the DCU, I really can't think of any major hero who started as a villain, or who switched sides...?

If I'm not just unconsciously glossing over examples from the DCU, then it would seem to fit with the Romance v. Detective dichotomy you've set up, but then again I'd think a detective/mystery story would allow for crossing sides to make things more interesting. Or maybe I'm just thinking about it too much.Audiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12014886402102923551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11737441.post-89680123312363382872008-12-28T16:01:00.000-05:002008-12-28T16:01:00.000-05:00I try not to look too hard at these teasers that D...I try not to look too hard at these teasers that DC produces.
