NOT Halle Berry (haaaate!), she's already shown a complete disregard for established comics properties, preferring to give us her own 'interpretation' rather than actually read a comic. And we've seen how well that works.

I'm suprised no one's mentioned Tyra Banks. After all, Mari Jiwe McCabe was a supermodel. And Tyra's no stranger to feral, no-holds-barred viciousness.
ReplyDeleteSo yes, I'm surprised no one's mentioned her, but also gladdened, because she wouldn't work. At all.
To play Vixen, you'd need at least two brain cells to rub together, and Tyra ... um, no. If you need someone whose sheer fatuousness is enough to emotionally hobble a trembling, anorexic, wannabe model on a cheesy reality show, Tyra's your girl. Otherwise you need someone made of sterner stuff.
You know, Gina Torres does a hell of a job as Vixen on JLU. Sure, she's a bit more statuesque and regal than Vixen was typically portrayed, but she's shown the ability to play tough, smart and acerbic.
She'd look very, very silly in the V-hair though.
Of course, so would anyone.

ReplyDeleteThe missus was watching Miss Congeniality 2 yesterday (All right, I was watching it too, but I'm not proud of it), and I noticed King, who played Sandra Bullock's FBI partner. I think she's got the look and the athletic ability.
Gina Torres ... that's Zoe of Firefly fame.
